The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Hashimu Argungu, has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, pledging that the commission remains dedicated to reforms that will ensure a more efficient, motivated, and accountable police force.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Argungu, speaking on behalf of the management and staff of the commission, extended warm wishes to the government and people of Nigeria, as well as officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force. He urged them to remain steadfast in their service to the country.
He described Independence Day as both a celebration and a moment for sober reflection on the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers and the responsibility of all citizens to contribute to building a united, peaceful, and prosperous nation.
The PSC Chairman encouraged police officers nationwide to recommit themselves to professionalism, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their constitutional duties of maintaining law and order.
“As we celebrate our Independence, let us renew our faith in Nigeria and continue to work together in unity and love. The challenges may be daunting, but with resilience and commitment, our nation will continue to thrive,” Argungu said.
The commission also prayed for continued peace, progress, and prosperity for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
