Guzape Murder Case Takes Fresh Twist As FCT Police Arraign Three Suspects

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arraigned three suspects before the FCT High Court 13 over the alleged murder of Adimike Godwin in Guzape, Abuja, marking a significant step in the prosecution of the high profile homicide case.

The defendants, Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony, Adimike Chinyere Stephany and Comfort Ajibade, were brought before the court on multiple charges following the conclusion of police investigations into the incident.

According to the police, the deceased was discovered in his residence on May 15, 2026, after a relative alerted the Guzape Divisional Headquarters over repeated unsuccessful attempts to reach him.

Detectives who responded to the distress call found Adimike unconscious in his room with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to Karu General Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead.

The investigation, ordered by the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, led to the arrest of five persons, including the deceased’s driver and gateman, as detectives examined the circumstances surrounding the killing.

Police said only three of the suspects were eventually charged after investigators concluded their findings and forwarded the case for prosecution.

The defendants are facing a four count charge, including criminal conspiracy to commit culpable homicide, culpable homicide and offences under the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.

The prosecution alleged that all three suspects conspired in the killing of the deceased, while separate counts accused the defendants of offences under the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act as contained in the charge before the court.

The trial judge adjourned the matter until September 30, 2026, for further hearing and ordered that the three defendants be remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre pending the continuation of proceedings.

The FCT Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice for victims of crime, stressing that while the prosecution would be pursued diligently, the constitutional rights of every defendant would be respected throughout the judicial process.
