
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated a new batch of senior officers recently elevated to various ranks within the Nigeria Police Force, reaffirming the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM’s unwavering commitment to professionalism, merit, and excellence-driven career progression.
Speaking during the decoration ceremony held at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, CP Olohundare commended the Police Service Commission (PSC) for maintaining a transparent and credible promotion process. He noted that the latest round of promotions reflected the Force’s renewed emphasis on merit, diligence, and integrity in service.
According to him, the promotions cut across several ranks, including the elevation of officers from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP), as well as the confirmation of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs).
While decorating the newly promoted officers, CP Olohundare delivered the goodwill message of the Inspector-General of Police, urging them to view their elevation as both an honour and a call to higher responsibility.
“Every promotion represents renewed trust, deeper accountability, and greater expectations from both the Force and the public we serve,” he said. “I urge you all to uphold professionalism, demonstrate exemplary leadership, and continue to discharge your duties with fairness, courage, and compassion.”
Among those decorated were CSP Agba Anna, DPO Ajao Estate Division; CSP Jacob Gana Jiya, DPO Ilemba-Hausa Division; CSP Hadiza Jidda, DPO Ogombo Division; CSP Amoda Fatai, DCO Ikeja Division; CSP Udomfiok Emmanuel, 2iC Gender Unit; CSP Aroloye Bamikole, DPO Agbowa Division; and CSP Momoh Kamaldeen, DPO Apapa Division.
The event, witnessed by senior management officers, family members, and colleagues, was filled with emotions and gratitude as the newly promoted officers expressed appreciation to the IGP and PSC for recognizing their dedication and years of service. They pledged to redouble their efforts in ensuring a safer and more secure Lagos State.
“This promotion is a motivation to work harder and lead with integrity,” one of the honorees said on behalf of the group.
In his closing remarks, CP Olohundare Jimoh reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustaining a Command driven by discipline, professionalism, and purposeful policing. He charged the officers to justify their elevation by continually demonstrating competence and contributing meaningfully to the peace and security of the state.
“Promotion comes with responsibility,” he added. “Let this elevation reflect in your performance and dedication to the service of our people.”
