The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port Harcourt Area II Command, has achieved a historic feat, generating a record-breaking ₦76.07 billion in revenue for October 2025, the highest monthly collection in the Command’s history.
The landmark performance, according to a statement signed by Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Theophilus P. Duniya, Public Relations Officer of the Command, reflects the result of strategic reforms, stakeholder collaboration, and effective leadership under Comptroller Aliyu M. Alkali.
CSC Duniya disclosed that the Command’s record-setting collection was driven by deliberate stakeholder engagement, consistent dialogue with industry players, and enhanced compliance measures that facilitated legitimate trade while strengthening the Command’s operational efficiency.
“This milestone is a direct outcome of Comptroller Alkali’s proactive leadership and continuous interaction with stakeholders,” the statement read. “His emphasis on trade facilitation, transparency, and compliance has greatly contributed to the improved revenue performance.”
The Command’s success is further attributed to strategic deployment of officers to key operational areas based on identified needs—an approach that optimized manpower utilization and boosted efficiency across terminals and bonded warehouses.
Comptroller Alkali, while expressing appreciation to stakeholders, importers, licensed customs agents, and officers of the Command, commended their patriotism, synergy, and dedication toward achieving this remarkable milestone.
“This achievement is a testament to what unity, diligence, and professionalism can deliver when we work towards a common goal,” Comptroller Alkali said. “We will continue to strengthen our systems and sustain this momentum for greater national economic growth.”
He further reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to the Federal Government’s revenue drive, enforcement of trade regulations, and promotion of legitimate trade practices that foster economic development.
With this performance, the Port Harcourt Area II Command joins other high-performing customs formations, such as Apapa and Tin Can Island in redefining the NCS’s revenue generation trajectory and contributing significantly to Nigeria’s fiscal stability.
