Polaris Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to youth development and community empowerment by supporting the 2025 edition of the Maracana Children’s Fest held on July 21 at the historic Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle, Lagos.
The grassroots event, organized by the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation, brought together more than 3,000 primary and secondary school students, their families, and community leaders for a day of sports, creative engagement, and social inclusion.
As a key sponsor, Polaris Bank provided vital support to the festival, including meals, palliative food packages, and assorted functional mementoes for participants and their families. The bank’s sponsorship underscored its dedication to corporate social responsibility and to uplifting underserved communities.
Speaking on behalf of Polaris Bank’s Managing Director, Kayode Lawal, the Head of Brand Management and Corporate Communication, Rasheed Bolarinwa, emphasized the importance of the initiative.
“We are proud to support the Maracana Children’s Fest and contribute to such a meaningful community initiative,” Bolarinwa said. “This event allowed us to connect with the next generation and their families, promoting both youth development and financial inclusion. Our support reflects Polaris Bank’s values and commitment to empowering communities.”
The event’s excitement was further amplified by the presence of seven former Super Eagles players, whose participation inspired young attendees and fostered a strong sense of community pride.
Through its active involvement in the Maracana Children’s Fest, Polaris Bank has once again demonstrated its role as a socially responsible institution, with a clear focus on youth empowerment, education, and financial inclusion—core pillars of its corporate social investment and sustainability strategy.
