In continuation of its commitment to alleviating food insecurity and supporting underserved communities, Fidelity Bank Plc has extended its Fidelity Food Bank initiative to residents of Victoria Island in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The initiative, which attracted hundreds of beneficiaries from various backgrounds, is part of the bank’s nationwide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at tackling poverty, hunger, and malnutrition in Nigeria.
During the food distribution event, Executive Technical Assistant to the Managing Director/CEO of Fidelity Bank Plc, Mr. Adebayo Adeyinka, said the initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 – Zero Hunger. He noted that the bank’s CSR efforts have been consistent and impactful across the country.
“The Fidelity Food Bank was established to address the pressing challenges of poverty, hunger, malnutrition, and infant and maternal mortality within our communities,” Adeyinka said. “From IDP camps to flood-hit communities in Niger State, this initiative continues to offer critical support to those in need.”
Mr. Henry Asiegbu, Divisional Head, Operations, Fidelity Bank Plc, also spoke at the event. He acknowledged the growing support for the program across Nigeria and said it has encouraged the bank to scale its outreach.
“This intervention has been positively received at all levels – from community members to government and partner organizations,” he said. “The support has been overwhelming, and it encourages us to sustain and expand the initiative further.”
Residents of the Eti-Osa community expressed their gratitude for the food packs, praising the bank for its consistent commitment to community development. Victoria Olubiyo, a resident and representative of community members, lauded the bank for restoring hope through its ongoing interventions.
“Fidelity Bank has brought joy to our lives. Even during the cash crisis, their ATMs were reliable. They have provided boreholes and fulfilled their promises. Today, everyone – men, women, children, and even people living with disabilities – is remembered,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Jerome Igbe, also praised the gesture. “This means so much to struggling families. I honestly didn’t expect this kind of support. May God bless them and replenish their resources,” he said.
