FCT Police Spokesperson Calls For Positive Narrative On Security Agencies’ Efforts

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, SP Josephine Adeh, has called on Nigerians to begin shifting the public narrative around security agencies by amplifying stories of bravery, resilience, and progress instead of solely focusing on negative incidents.

In a statement issued on Monday, SP Adeh appealed to citizens, bloggers, and influencers to highlight the countless acts of courage and sacrifice displayed daily by officers across the country. According to her, continuously spotlighting only failures or misconduct undermines public trust and emboldens criminal elements.

“Instead of constantly digging up negative videos about our security agencies, let’s start highlighting the countless acts of bravery, sacrifice, and gallantry shown by our officers daily,” she said.

She emphasized the importance of public support in the fight against crime, noting that building public confidence and morale within the security architecture is a collective responsibility — not just the job of the police.

“Let’s flood the space with stories of courage, resilience, and progress so that criminals understand that the security forces are closing in, and that crime has consequences,” SP Adeh added.

She urged the public to share more success stories — such as successful rescues, foiled attacks, and communities saved — saying such content not only inspires hope but also weakens the morale of criminal actors.

“This fight is not for the security agencies alone. It’s a collective responsibility,” she stressed. “Every shared video of a successful rescue, a foiled attack, or a community saved helps build public confidence and weakens criminal morale.”

In conclusion, the FCT Police PRO called on all citizens to use their voices and platforms to promote hope, patriotism, and appreciation for the security personnel who risk their lives daily to safeguard the country.

“Let’s start amplifying the efforts, sacrifices, and silent victories of those who risk everything to protect us. Your voice matters. Use it to inspire hope, not fear,” she stated.
