The Customs Area Controller, Enugu/Anambra/Ebonyi Command, Comptroller Comfort Umana, has congratulated the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on his well-deserved reappointment by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
In a congratulatory message, Comptroller Umana described the reappointment as a recognition of the CGC’s transformational leadership since assuming office, noting that he has initiated far-reaching reforms aimed at repositioning the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for greater efficiency and global relevance.
She highlighted that CGC Adeniyi’s election as Chairperson of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council in Brussels further testifies to his giant strides and milestones in the Service. According to her, the reforms introduced under his leadership have enhanced trade facilitation, harmonized trade processes, and increased revenue generation, while prioritizing legitimate trade.
“On behalf of myself and the entire officers of the Enugu/Anambra/Ebonyi Command, I thank the President for this reappointment and wish the CGC more grace and continued success as he leads the Service to greater heights,” Comptroller Umana stated.
