In a bid to bolster the efficiency and professionalism of the Nigerian Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has announced significant appointments and redeployments within the force.
The changes, which take effect immediately, include the assignment of Deputy Inspectors-General (DIGs) and Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs) to various key departments, formations, and geographic zones.
DIG Hafiz M. Inuwa, a highly experienced officer, has been entrusted with the crucial role of heading the Department of Logistics and Supply.
Meanwhile, DIG Bala Ciroma and DIG Emeka Frank Mba have been appointed to oversee the Department of Training and Development and the Department of Research and Planning, respectively.
These promotions reflect the IGP’s commitment to ensuring that talented and qualified individuals are placed in positions that align with their expertise.
As part of the reorganization, DIG Ciroma will serve as the supervising DIG for the North-East region, while DIG Mba will take on a supervisory role for the South-East geopolitical zone.

Furthermore, the IGP has approved the posting and redeployment of seventeen (17) Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs) to various commands and formations across the country.
The assignments include prestigious roles such as AIG of Zone 7 Abuja, which has been entrusted to AIG Williams Adebowale, and AIG of Zone 1 Kano, which will now be headed by AIG Umar M. Sanda.
