NDU Lagos Elects New Executive As Chinedu Odiaka Emerges Chairman

The Lagos Branch of the NDU has elected a new set of executives to steer the affairs of the association following a successful and peaceful election conducted on August 2, 2026.

The election, which attracted members of the branch, was widely described as transparent, orderly and credible, reflecting the association’s commitment to internal democracy, unity and responsible leadership.

At the end of the exercise, Chief Chinedu Odiaka was elected Chairman to lead the branch for the new administration, with members expressing confidence in his capacity to advance the objectives of the association.

Also elected was Chief Tochukwu Ndife as Vice Chairman, while Mr. Ekene Nwakaeze emerged as General Secretary to oversee the administrative affairs of the branch.
The new executive team further includes Mr. Emeka Ekwealor as Assistant Secretary, Chief Chinedu Ebede as Financial Secretary, and Mr. Celestine Nwankwo as Treasurer.

Completing the leadership team is Mr. Ifeanyi Nweke, who was elected Public Relations Officer (PRO) and is expected to strengthen communication and public engagement for the branch.

Members commended the peaceful conduct of the election, noting that the process demonstrated maturity, transparency and a shared commitment to strengthening the association through democratic participation.

The emergence of the new leadership is expected to usher in a fresh phase of collaboration, accountability and programmes designed to promote the welfare and collective interests of members across the Lagos Branch.

Observers at the election expressed optimism that the newly elected executives would build on existing achievements, foster greater unity and deepen members’ participation in the activities of the association.

With the successful conclusion of the electoral process, attention has now shifted to the formal inauguration of the new executives as members look forward to purposeful leadership and renewed progress for the NDU Lagos Branch.
