The Anambra State Police Command has intensified night patrols across the state in a renewed effort to enhance public safety and crime prevention.
Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, police operatives on Monday, 23rd June 2025, began stepped-up night patrol operations aimed at reinforcing the Force’s commitment to community protection.
While addressing the operatives ahead of the operation, CP Orutugu charged them to remain vigilant, proactive, and professional in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized the importance of conducting patrols with courtesy and respect for citizens’ rights and dignity.
He stated, “Officers must stay alert and proactive in preventing crimes while ensuring the safety and rights of residents are respected at all times.”
The CP’s directive aligns with the Command’s broader security strategy to reassure the public of the police’s presence and dedication to maintaining law and order throughout the state.
The initiative is expected to strengthen public confidence in the police and deter criminal activities during night hours.
