As Nigeria marks 66 years of independence, I join millions of Nigerians at home and around the world in celebrating our nation: our journey, our resilience and, above all, our extraordinary potential.
As Convener of Pivot Nigeria: Reframing the Lens, I believe this is a defining moment to look at our nation with greater clarity; not through the limitations of yesterday, but through the possibilities of tomorrow.
My deepest aspiration remains clear: to see Nigeria fulfil its potential and become the nation we know it can be.
Nigeria is a nation of giants: thespians, artists, scientists, technologists, technicians, technocrats, legal luminaries, orators, creators and entrepreneurs. Across generations and disciplines, the Nigerian spirit has never been in doubt.
The question is: what will we do with it?
It is time to reframe the lens.
To see Nigeria more clearly.
To tell our story more intentionally.
To learn honestly from our history.
To align our aspirations with our actions.
And to build, with courage and conviction, the Nigeria we envision.
Because the future of Nigeria will not be shaped by the stories told about us alone.
It will be shaped by the story we choose to write together.
On this Independence Day, may we renew our faith in Nigeria, our responsibility to Nigeria, and our commitment to the Nigeria yet to be.
Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria. 🇳🇬
