Nigeria’s renewable energy and energy efficiency sector will come under renewed focus this week as policymakers, investors, regulators, development partners and industry leaders gather in Lagos for the fifth REEEA A Investment and Partnership Conference 2026.
The two day conference, organised by the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations Alliance (REEEA A), will hold from Wednesday, August 19 to Thursday, August 20 at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
The conference is themed, “Accelerating Collective Action and Strategic Partnerships for Equitable Clean Energy Access.”
The gathering comes as Nigeria intensifies efforts to expand electricity access, attract private capital into renewable energy, improve energy infrastructure and promote innovative solutions capable of delivering reliable and affordable power.
The event is expected to bring together senior government officials, investors, development finance institutions, international development organisations, regulators, technology companies, project developers and other private sector players.
Among those expected at the conference are the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, Dr Abba Aliyu; Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Engr Mustapha Abdullahi; Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Dr Musiliu Oseni; and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency, Engr Adesayo Michael.
Their participation, according to REEEA A, reflects the growing need for closer cooperation between government, regulators and private sector operators in addressing the country’s energy challenges.
The organisers said the conference would go beyond policy discussions by creating opportunities for investment, partnerships and the deployment of scalable clean energy solutions.
It will provide a platform for investors, financiers, policymakers, technology providers, development institutions and project developers to examine the opportunities and challenges confronting Nigeria’s clean energy market.
Key discussions will focus on energy access, investment, regulatory reforms, private sector participation, clean energy technology, energy efficiency, electric mobility, climate finance, skills development and increased participation of women and young people.
A technology and innovation showcase is also expected to highlight emerging solutions and enterprises supporting Nigeria’s renewable energy and sustainable mobility ambitions.
The conference will feature participation from institutions including the Federal Ministry of Power, Rural Electrification Agency, Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency, GIZ Nigerian Energy Support Programme, European Union Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, All On, GET.invest and Sterling Bank Plc.
Other prominent participants expected include Prof Abubakar Sani Sambo, Nigeria Chapter Chairman of the World Energy Council and Chairman of the REEEA A Board of Trustees; Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Biodun Ogunleye; Ondo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr Alabi Johnson; and Jigawa State Commissioner of Power and Energy, Engr Dr Suraju Musa.
The organisers said the diversity of stakeholders would help strengthen collaboration across government, finance, technology, business and development institutions, while creating opportunities for projects that can expand energy access and support economic growth.
The conference will also feature the REEEA A Clean Energy Awards, which will recognise individuals and organisations for outstanding contributions, innovation and measurable impact in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
REEEA A has urged government agencies, financial institutions, investors, development organisations, energy companies, technology providers, project developers, entrepreneurs and professional bodies to participate in the conference and contribute to discussions on Nigeria’s clean energy future.
