Ogun CP Ojajuni Reaffirms Inter Agency Security Collaboration

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has reaffirmed the commitment of the command to strengthening inter agency cooperation and coordinated security communication across the state.

Ojajuni gave the assurance when he received members of the Military, Police and Paramilitary Public Relations Officers Forum (MILPOPPROF), Ogun State Chapter, during a courtesy visit to the Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The delegation comprised public relations officers from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Correctional Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Federal Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, So Safe Corps, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Amotekun Corps and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, among others.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of MILPOPPROF, Ogun State Chapter and Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi.

Babaseyi thanked Ojajuni for receiving the forum and recalled the Commissioner’s pioneering role in the establishment of MILPOPPROF during his tenure as Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State Command in 2005.

He said the continued participation of spokespersons from various security and paramilitary organisations underscored the forum’s commitment to strengthening inter agency collaboration, credible public communication and public enlightenment.

Responding, Ojajuni expressed delight at the visit and described MILPOPPROF as an enduring platform created to foster understanding, cooperation and mutual trust among security agencies.

The Commissioner recalled that the forum emerged from a pioneering initiative involving him and Major Kingsley Umoh of the 81 Division, then 9th Brigade, following the inter agency clash at Ojuelegba, Lagos State, in 2005/2006.

According to him, the objective was to eliminate rivalry among security agencies, deepen mutual understanding and establish an effective channel for information sharing and coordinated communication.

Ojajuni urged the current generation of security spokespersons to preserve the founding ideals of MILPOPPROF while adapting them to the demands of modern, technology driven communication. He stressed the need for security agencies to speak with one voice and provide timely, accurate and credible information.

He also charged the spokespersons to maintain professionalism and factual communication in their dealings with the public, noting that effective security information management was essential to building confidence, sustaining peace and securing public cooperation.

The MILPOPPROF members commended Ojajuni for his mentorship and commitment to the forum’s ideals, pledging to sustain inter agency collaboration and promote public safety across Ogun State. The Police Command also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly provide credible information to the appropriate security agencies.
