The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has intensified efforts to strengthen inter agency security cooperation through strategic familiarisation visits to the Ogun State Commands of the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The visits, which formed part of ongoing institutional engagements by the Ogun State Police Command, focused on improving operational synergy, intelligence sharing and coordinated responses among critical security agencies in the state.
Speaking during the engagements, CP Ojajuni stressed that modern security management can only succeed through sustained collaboration, mutual support and effective partnerships among agencies within Nigeria’s internal security structure.
At the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, the police commissioner was received by Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, alongside senior officers of the corps.
Discussions at the meeting centred on traffic management, highway patrol operations, accident prevention strategies, emergency response coordination and public safety advocacy aimed at reducing road crashes across Ogun State.
CP Ojajuni commended the FRSC for its professionalism and dedication to road safety, particularly applauding the Special Marshal Initiative, which he described as a strong community driven partnership model promoting civic responsibility and public participation in safety management.
The police commissioner noted that the initiative mirrors the impact of the Police Community Relations Committee by strengthening collaboration between security agencies and residents in maintaining order and discipline within communities.
At the Nigerian Correctional Service Command, Controller of Corrections Abioye Kamoru Adesina received the police delegation, where deliberations focused on custodial security, inmate management, criminal justice administration and rehabilitation programmes for inmates.
CP Ojajuni praised ongoing reforms within the correctional service, especially initiatives centred on inmate education, vocational training, behavioural reformation and rehabilitation designed to prepare inmates for productive reintegration into society after incarceration.
Reaffirming the commitment of the Ogun State Police Command to stronger institutional partnerships, the commissioner maintained that sustainable security, effective policing and public safety can only be achieved through coordinated operational strategies, intelligence sharing and robust inter agency collaboration across Ogun State.
