The Chief of Logistics, Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral SH Abdullahi, on Tuesday visited the Headquarters Western Naval Command in Lagos, setting the tone for a renewed push to strengthen operational efficiency across the Service.
Abdullahi’s visit, part of an ongoing inspection tour of naval formations, focused on evaluating logistics systems and ensuring that critical support structures align with the Navy’s evolving operational demands.
He was received at the Command Headquarters by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Abubakar Mustapha, who led the high level delegation on a tour of key facilities.
Central to the visit was the inspection of ongoing logistics projects, with particular attention on infrastructure and supply chain mechanisms designed to sustain fleet readiness.
The logistics chief conducted an on the spot assessment of installations, reviewing their capacity to deliver timely support to personnel and operational units within the Command.
Speaking during the visit, Abdullahi underscored the pivotal role of logistics in naval operations, stressing that efficiency in equipment provision and maintenance remains indispensable to mission success.
He noted that a responsive logistics architecture would not only enhance operational output but also reinforce the Navy’s ability to meet emerging maritime security challenges.
In his remarks, Mustapha commended the Chief of Logistics for his proactive leadership and unwavering commitment to reforming the Navy’s logistics framework.
