The Nigeria Customs Service has etched a defining moment in its institutional history, celebrating Superintendent of Customs Nafisat Balogun for attaining a commercial multi engine pilot licence in the United States.

At a ceremony convened by the Nigeria Customs Technical Hangar Service, senior officers, management staff and colleagues gathered to honour Balogun’s remarkable ascent and historic feat.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of the Customs Technical Hangar Service, retired Comptroller of Customs, Captain Kuhi Mbaya, described the achievement as both inspiring and transformative.
He noted that Balogun’s journey from cabin attendant to certified commercial pilot reflects an uncommon determination and a strong institutional support system.
Mbaya emphasised that her success has set a precedent within the service, marking a significant turning point in the pursuit of gender inclusion and professional advancement.
