…CP Dantawaye Deploys Tactical Units, Orders Sustained Operation Till January 2026

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched a large-scale operation aimed at flushing out criminal elements and sustaining peace across the nation’s capital. The Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, has ordered a massive crackdown involving tactical and surveillance teams drawn from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the Police Mobile Force (PMF), and the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU).

According to a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, ANIPR, the operation scheduled to run from November 2025 through January 2026 is part of renewed efforts to rid the FCT of criminal hideouts, bandit camps, and other security threats.

SP Adeh explained that the comprehensive exercise will target identified black spots, forests, and vulnerable communities where criminal elements are believed to operate. The Commissioner emphasized that the operation will be intense, consistent, and intelligence-driven, ensuring that every corner of the FCT remains under effective police watch.

“Operatives have been directed to dominate all criminal black spots and vulnerable areas to ensure the safety and security of residents,” CP Dantawaye said, warning that no form of misconduct or unprofessional behavior will be tolerated.

He urged all officers involved to maintain professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights while executing their duties, stressing that the Command will not condone any form of abuse or negligence during the exercise.

The Commissioner also appealed for the full cooperation of residents, noting that strong community-police collaboration is crucial to sustaining peace and preventing crime in the FCT. He advised citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the police.
