
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Security Spokespersons Forum has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering stronger inter-agency collaboration and enhancing public communication across security and emergency response organizations in the nation’s capital.
The forum, which held its strategic meeting on Thursday, October 31, 2025, at the Federal Fire Service FCT Command Headquarters, Kubwa, Abuja, brought together Public Relations Officers and spokespersons from all security and emergency management agencies operating within the territory.
Speaking during the meeting, SP Josephine Adeh, ANIPR, the Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command, and Coordinator of the FCT Security Spokespersons Forum, underscored the importance of unity of purpose among communication officers. She noted that effective information sharing, coordinated messaging, and timely dissemination of accurate updates are essential tools for building public trust and promoting security awareness.
Participants at the session exchanged ideas on innovative communication models to improve crisis management, enhance inter-agency understanding, and ensure that the public receives credible and harmonized security information. They emphasized that collaboration among security and emergency agencies remains a vital component of proactive policing, disaster response, and national security management.
The meeting had in attendance representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the Federal Fire Service (FFS) FCT Command, among others.
At the end of deliberations, members unanimously resolved to sustain the momentum of inter-agency cooperation through periodic engagements, joint public enlightenment campaigns, and professional training programmes designed to improve operational synergy and public confidence in the security architecture of the Federal Capital Territory.
