The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Chinedu Oko, psc, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, received members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Maritime Command, who paid a courtesy visit to his office in Lagos.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Adebayo Rasheed, anipr, the delegation was led by Elder Udoh George, Chairman of the Maritime PCRC, who congratulated AIG Oko on his assumption of office and reaffirmed the Committee’s loyalty and commitment to the Command. Elder George commended the Nigeria Police Force for its sustained efforts in promoting community partnership and pledged continued collaboration in advancing security within the maritime environment.
In his remarks, AIG Oko expressed appreciation to the Maritime PCRC for their visit and goodwill gesture, noting that his past experience as a Police Public Relations Officer had given him deep insight into the critical role of community relations in effective policing. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity, intelligence sharing, and stakeholder engagement in building public trust and enhancing maritime security operations.
He further urged members of the PCRC to remain credible ambassadors of the Maritime Police Command by providing timely intelligence, credible information, and constructive feedback that would aid police operations across maritime communities.
