The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Nigerian Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, is billed to deliver the keynote address at the 2025 Finance and Business Online Publishers (FiBOP) National Annual Conference, scheduled for October 18–19 at Orchid Hotels, Lekki, Lagos.
The conference, themed “Achieving $1 Trillion Economy: Leveraging Technology Innovations, Tax Reforms, and Opportunities in Renewable Energy, Agriculture and Financial Services,” will feature discussions on strategies to fast-track Nigeria’s economic transformation and growth.
Organisers say the two-day event will bring together technocrats, industry leaders, academics, and key stakeholders across sectors to deliberate on practical steps towards diversifying the economy, strengthening institutions, and creating sustainable pathways to achieve the government’s target of a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
The 2025 conference has secured sponsorship commitments from leading institutions including the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), emPLE Insurance Limited, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Polaris Bank, Zenith Bank, Fidelity Bank, Universal Insurance, and Nestlé Nigeria Plc.
FiBOP President, Mr. Charles Onwuatogwu, called on more organisations to partner with the association, stressing that the conference aligns with the Federal Government’s renewed hope agenda on wealth creation and inclusive development. He assured that sponsors will enjoy wide-ranging publicity benefits through media coverage, interviews, and brand visibility.
Edun, in his remarks ahead of the conference, reiterated the importance of domestic savings and a trusted financial system as the foundation for sustainable investment. According to him, “A trusted and stable financial system, anchored by strong institutions, is essential to lifting millions out of poverty and driving Nigeria’s transition to a $1 trillion economy.”
FiBOP, registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission, comprises seasoned online publishers and editors with backgrounds in print and electronic media. The association is dedicated to balanced economic reporting, wealth creation, and supporting the growth of Nigeria’s economy and Africa at large.
The annual conference serves as a platform for stakeholders to engage on pressing national issues, fostering inclusive growth, unity, and prosperity.
