In a world often weighed down by inequality and hardship, Tilova for Africa, a non-profit charity founded by Nigerian-born U.S.-based pharmacists Mr. Martin Nwabueze and Dr. Chisom Nwabueze, is extending a lifeline to vulnerable communities across Africa, starting from Nigeria.
Guided by the timeless wisdom of humanitarians like Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi, and John Wesley, the Nwabuezes have made kindness their calling. Motivated by both personal conviction and tragedy—including the killing of a close friend in South Africa for his sexual orientation—the couple has channeled their passion for justice and compassion into building a philanthropic network that is changing lives.
Tilova for Africa, headquartered in New Hampshire, USA, now boasts a coalition of more than 500 volunteers across Africa and the United States. These include doctors, human rights activists, journalists, lawyers, and everyday citizens who dedicate their time and resources to addressing critical issues such as poverty, health care access, educational empowerment, and human rights advocacy.
“As African migrants, we feel blessed for the opportunity the United States has given us, but we can’t forget our roots,” said Martin Nwabueze. “Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in our resolve and the actions of our services and initiatives.”
Through direct disbursements via their website and social media platforms, Tilova for Africa provides financial assistance to those in need, and partners with local NGOs to improve outreach and impact. The organization’s approach ensures transparency and donor confidence, as all contributions are carefully reviewed and aligned with the charity’s mission and values.
“We are pushing African governments, religious bodies, and businesses to create and enforce laws that protect marginalized communities,” Martin explained. “At the same time, we are feeding the hungry, treating the sick, educating children, and empowering women through a growing network of kind-hearted donors and volunteers.”
Currently funded through personal contributions and donations from supporters, Tilova for Africa plans to scale its efforts with future support from government agencies and corporate partners.
