The Anambra State Police Command has initiated a full-scale rescue operation following the abduction of a yet-to-be-identified individual by armed men in Awka on Friday morning, June 27, 2025.
According to a trending video capturing the incident, three armed hoodlums, operating in a stainless-colored Toyota Highlander SUV without license plates, shot indiscriminately before abducting the victim in broad daylight.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the Command is actively pursuing the suspects and has deployed tactical teams to ensure the victim’s safe rescue.
“The Command has activated rescue operations to apprehend the suspects and will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the victim is rescued alive,” Ikenga assured.
The police also urged members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement by providing any useful information that could aid in the investigation and rescue efforts.
