Police Extend Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement Deadline To October 2

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has extended the grace period for the enforcement of tinted glass permits for vehicles to October 2, 2025.

Force Public Relations Officer DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement referenced CZ.5300/FPRD/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.6/485 and dated August 11, said the decision was approved by Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun following a surge in applications through the official portal, https://possap.gov.ng.

Adejobi explained that the extension would allow the Force more time to thoroughly scrutinize applications to ensure only eligible individuals receive permits, in line with national security considerations. It will also enable continued improvements to both digital and physical verification processes to prevent abuse.

The Police warned the public to avoid unofficial channels and to report any cases of extortion or unauthorized processing via the hotline 09169967000.

The statement reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to balancing public convenience with robust security measures for the safety of all Nigerians.
