NLNG To Lead Dialogue on Nigeria’s Gas Future At 2025 Oriental News Summit

The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) has been confirmed as the keynote speaker at the forthcoming 2025 Oriental News Nigeria National Energy Conference, where top stakeholders in the energy, regulatory, and transportation sectors are expected to discuss the role of gas in achieving Nigeria’s energy transition objectives.

The summit, themed “Integrating Nigeria’s Gas Potentials Into Strategic Energy Transition Initiatives,” is scheduled to hold on July 24, 2025, at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

Organized by Oriental News Nigeria, a leading online energy and economy-focused publication under STANMEG Communications, the annual conference is expected to provide a platform for key industry players, policy makers, and investors to evaluate Nigeria’s current gas policies, infrastructure gaps, and energy security strategies.

According to the organizers, this year’s edition will place a spotlight on Nigeria’s vast but underutilized gas reserves and how these can be harnessed to support industrial growth, domestic energy supply, and the country’s overall economic stability.

Speaking ahead of the event, Publisher and Editor of Oriental News Nigeria, Yemisi Izuora, stated that the summit will address critical issues affecting gas development in Nigeria. “We’re bringing together key experts to have honest conversations about unlocking the full potential of our gas resources and how this can drive industrialization, transportation reform, and energy access,” she said.

The conference will feature panel discussions on a range of sub-themes, including:

* Enhancing energy security and efficiency through effective gas utilization;
* Evaluating regulatory frameworks for sustainable CNG adoption in the transport sector;
* Reinforcing LPG and CNG strategies to reduce fossil fuel emissions;
* Strengthening local content collaboration between the insurance industry and the oil and gas sector.

The summit comes at a time when Nigeria is facing critical energy challenges. With over 100 million citizens lacking reliable energy access and the population projected to double by 2050, the government has ramped up gas-focused initiatives such as the Presidential CNG Initiative and the Decade of Gas Policy.

However, concerns remain over infrastructure bottlenecks, weak regulations, and community conflicts that have hampered the effective utilization of Nigeria’s estimated 200 trillion cubic feet of proven gas reserves.

Stakeholders at the summit are expected to deliberate on solutions that will enable Nigeria to maximize its gas resources without compromising environmental goals, especially as global attention shifts to cleaner energy alternatives.

The 2025 Oriental News Summit marks the fourth in the series and is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most credible platforms for energy policy discussions. With NLNG and other government agencies on board, this year’s edition promises to generate actionable strategies to strengthen Nigeria’s energy future.
