
The Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, FCIB, has been honoured with the “Icon of Diligence in Service” award by Exposure Media. The recognition was conferred during the organisation’s 2025 Annual Lecture and Award Presentation, held in commemoration of 26 years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria.
The event took place at the Nigeria National Merit Award Secretariat, Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, and attracted dignitaries, stakeholders, and leaders from various sectors.
Receiving the award on behalf of the NIWA boss, the General Manager (Special Duties), Engr. Mohammed Dangana, expressed Oyebamiji’s gratitude to the organisers.
“I sincerely thank Exposure Media for this honour. It is a reflection not only of my personal efforts but also the collective commitment, collaboration, and support I’ve received over the years. Every milestone we’ve achieved has been driven by teamwork, dedication, and a shared vision for excellence,” the MD said through his representative.
He also acknowledged the influence of his mentors and leaders who have guided him throughout his career, while extending heartfelt appreciation to his family and friends for their unwavering support.
In his welcome address, Publisher of Exposure Media, Mr. Olayemi Gabriel, noted that the award was aimed at celebrating individuals whose dedication and service have not only brought professional acclaim but have also positively impacted their communities and contributed to national growth.
“The awardees are nation builders. Their actions continue to inspire and help shape a better Nigeria,” Gabriel said.
The event underscored the importance of recognising and encouraging diligent service across both public and private sectors.
