The Nigerian Army says it has achieved significant successes in ongoing nationwide operations against terrorists, criminals, and impostors, neutralising two terrorists, arresting 15 suspects, and recovering arms and military gear across multiple locations.
In Borno State, troops of 151 Task Force Battalion killed one terrorist during an ambush in Sabsawa, Bama Local Government Area (LGA), seizing an AK-47 rifle loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. In another operation along Pulka–Ngoshe road in Gwoza LGA, troops of 192 Battalion eliminated a terrorist and recovered another AK-47 rifle, observing blood trails along the withdrawal route, suggesting further enemy casualties.
On July 29, five family members of ISWAP/JAS terrorists — two women and three children — surrendered to troops at Banki Junction in Bama LGA after fleeing Bula Daloye village. They have been handed over to relevant authorities. Separately, troops of 50 Task Force Battalion and 134 Special Forces Battalion ambushed terrorists along the Marte–Dikwa route in Dikwa LGA, recovering two artillery shells.
In Lagos State, troops of 9 Brigade arrested 12 impostors dressed in military uniforms at Ojota, posing as officers and cadets of a fake corps. They were found with Nigerian Army and Navy insignia. In Abuja, Operation SWEEP apprehended another impostor dressed in woodland camouflage at Waru in the Abuja Municipal Area Council.
Troops of 145 Battalion in Abia State arrested two suspected cultists in Umuahia South LGA, recovering two locally made pistols, six cartridges, and other items. In Rivers State, troops of 343 Artillery Regiment intercepted two wooden boats carrying about 400 litres of illegally refined condensate in Onelga LGA. The suspects fled upon sighting troops.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and tackling insecurity across all regions, pledging to sustain operations aimed at restoring peace.
