The campaign is aligned with the Federal Government’s commitment to improving public health and advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the area of clean water and sanitation.

The Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, expressed strong support for the partnership, describing it as timely and strategic in addressing waterborne diseases and strengthening the country’s climate resilience.

“The Ministry is committed to working with Nestlé Nigeria to improve water quality across the country. This partnership is in line with our mission to ensure safe water access and support the health and wellbeing of all Nigerians,” the Minister stated.

Representing Nestlé Nigeria, Victoria Uwadoka, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability Lead, said the campaign aims to spark behavior change and foster long-term impact.

“Water is essential to life, yet millions of Nigerians remain at risk due to unsafe water sources. Our campaign is not just about raising awareness, it’s about shifting behaviors and building partnerships that deliver lasting impact,” she said.

According to Uwadoka, the campaign will focus on three core pillars: building awareness and knowledge, engaging multi-level stakeholders, and driving sustainable action to enhance water safety and community health.

Also speaking, Dr. Nicholas Igwe, National Coordinator of the Organized Private Sector in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (OPS-WASH), disclosed that the campaign would directly benefit several communities.

“In Abaji Area Council of the FCT, 16 communities will benefit from water quality interventions, while 8 communities in Agbara, Ogun State, are also included. Additionally, two agricultural communities will receive water harvesting systems to support irrigation and food production,” he revealed.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry and OPS-WASH, signaling a strong cross-sector commitment to improving access to clean water and strengthening national water governance.

Nestlé Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and community well-being through initiatives that improve livelihoods, support food systems, and contribute to environmental protection.
