In a move to promote access to quality education, Fidelity Bank Plc has renovated three blocks of classrooms at the historic Kobi Government School in Bauchi State. The project was delivered under the Bank’s Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP), its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
The intervention, funded through voluntary contributions by staff of the Bauchi GRA Branch and matched by the Bank’s Management, is part of Fidelity Bank’s broader commitment to community development and youth empowerment.
Speaking during the official handover of the facility, the Regional Bank Head, North-East, Dr. Musa Tarimbuka, who was represented by Ibrahim Aliyu, Relationship Manager of the Bauchi GRA Branch, noted that the project reflects the Bank’s dedication to the well-being of host communities.
“This initiative underscores our belief that our success is deeply connected to the well-being of the communities we serve. The renovated classrooms are a testament to the power of collective impact and our ongoing efforts to improve access to quality education and youth empowerment,” Aliyu said.
Receiving the newly renovated blocks on behalf of the Bauchi State Government, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Mohammed, commended the bank for its timely intervention and urged other corporate organizations to support education in the state.
“This is a commendable contribution by Fidelity Bank, and we assure you that the facility will be put to optimal use. I encourage other organizations in Bauchi to emulate this gesture and support educational development across the state,” the Commissioner stated.
The Kobi Government School renovation adds to a growing list of community-focused projects undertaken by the bank in line with its CSR pillars, particularly around quality education and youth empowerment. Recently, the bank also disbursed school fees support worth ₦512.8 million to a total of 1,356 customers under its Personal Savings Scheme and SWEETA product lines.
