Fidelity Bank Plc has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to education and youth development with the donation of essential academic and relief materials to Government Junior Secondary School, Elekahia, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The philanthropic gesture was carried out under the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP) and spearheaded by members of the Suncrest Inductee Class—newly inducted staff of the bank. The initiative underscores Fidelity Bank’s culture of community engagement, where staff identify pressing needs in their local communities, raise funds, and receive matching support from the bank to execute impactful projects.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stressing that the donation aligns with the bank’s longstanding philosophy of promoting social equity and developing the next generation of leaders.

“We deliberately chose a public school because we understand the challenges many students face. Our aim is to provide support that not only aids academic performance but also inspires hope for a brighter future,” said Dr. Nwagboh.
He added that the bank has, for over 15 years, supported schools across the country through various educational interventions.

In response, the Principal of the school, Dr. Ekeh Florence, expressed profound gratitude for the generous donation, which included exercise books, pens, socks, footwear, sanitary items such as pads and shaving sticks, and even snacks.

“We are sincerely grateful that Fidelity Bank remembered the students of our school. These items will go a long way in boosting the morale and academic readiness of our students,” she said.

Visibly elated, the students described the donation as unprecedented and pledged to make the best use of the items received to enhance their learning and personal development.
