Following his recent recognition as “Best Crime Fighter – Man of the Year 2025” by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has intensified advocacy for stronger community collaboration with security agencies across the state.
On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, CP Orutugu paid a courtesy visit to High Chief Dr. Christopher Ndubuisi (Ikenga Umuawulu) at his Abuja office, seeking deeper partnership and support for ongoing security efforts in Anambra State.
The visit, described as part of the Commissioner’s broader security advocacy initiative, is aimed at reinforcing strategic alliances between law enforcement, community leaders, and stakeholders, particularly in areas such as intelligence gathering, public awareness, and logistical support.
During the meeting, CP Orutugu commended High Chief Ndubuisi for his consistent support of security agencies and emphasized the need for sustained collaboration with traditional and community leaders.
“Security is a collective responsibility,” the Commissioner said. “We must all work together—security agencies, traditional institutions, and the public—to ensure peace, stability, and safety in our communities.”
High Chief Ndubuisi, in his response, lauded CP Orutugu’s proactive leadership and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the police and other security agencies in their mission to secure lives and property in Anambra. He praised the Commissioner’s efforts in promoting peace through collaboration and pledged continued moral and material backing for the state’s security operations.
The Anambra State Police Command, through its spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reiterated its commitment to building community-driven policing strategies and encouraged citizens to support law enforcement with timely and credible information to aid crime prevention.
The engagement marks another step in CP Orutugu’s vision of a safer Anambra State through inclusive, transparent, and responsive security governance.
