The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orotugu, has applauded the people of Nnewi South Local Government Area for their renewed commitment and collaborative efforts toward improving security in the region.
The commendation came during a routine patrol and assessment tour on July 15, 2025, as the Police Commissioner led a team of senior officers to inspect community-led goodwill projects aimed at refurbishing the police facility in Amichi, the headquarters of the LGA.
Accompanied by the Area Commander Nnewi, Divisional Police Officers from Otolo-Nnewi and Amichi, and other senior security officials, CP Orotugu also paid a courtesy visit to the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Van George Chinedu Ezeogidi, and held discussions with key stakeholders in the area.
During the visit, CP Orotugu acknowledged the vital role of community involvement in enhancing policing efforts and sustaining peace across the state. He emphasized that the partnership between residents and law enforcement remains a cornerstone of the command’s security strategy.
“We are witnessing firsthand the impact of community engagement and goodwill in strengthening our facilities and operations. This cooperation is commendable and essential for lasting peace,” CP Orotugu said.
In his remarks, Hon. Ezeogidi thanked the Commissioner of Police for his proactive leadership and assured him of continued community support to enhance safety and improve the working conditions of security agencies in the area.
The Anambra State Police Command reiterated its commitment to fostering a culture of trust, transparency, and shared responsibility in its efforts to protect lives and property throughout the state.
