Nigerian actress and TikTok personality Salman Olamide, popularly known as Kidbaby, has opened up about her family’s financial struggles and the sacrifices she made to continue her education.
The actress revealed that she worked in a bar in 2022 to raise money for her Higher National Diploma (HND) programme when her family could no longer comfortably meet her educational needs.
Speaking during an appearance on Barricades Live with Adewunmi, a podcast hosted by fellow TikToker Wunmi Star, Kidbaby recounted how her family’s financial situation changed following a serious accident involving her father in 2010.
According to her, she grew up in an educated and financially comfortable household, attending what she described as a big school before the incident changed the family’s circumstances.
Recalling the experience, she explained that her father’s accident resulted in significant financial difficulties for the family.
Despite the challenges, Kidbaby remained determined to pursue her education and took up work in a bar to raise the money she needed for her HND programme.
