…Alma Mater Celebrates Mobereola’s Mentorship Footprint

The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has been honoured with an Award of Recognition by his alma mater, St. Patrick’s Grammar School, in acknowledgement of his sustained commitment to mentorship and youth development.
The honour was bestowed during the institution’s 64th Founders’ Day celebration in Ibadan, drawing together alumni, students, and key stakeholders to celebrate a legacy spanning over six decades.
According to a statement by Mr. Osagie Edward, the recognition highlights Mobereola’s enduring influence beyond public service, particularly his investment in guiding and inspiring younger generations.
In his response, Mobereola described the award as deeply personal, noting that the honour reconnects him with the values and discipline instilled during his formative years at the institution.
He recalled his return to the school as a moment filled with nostalgia, reflecting on friendships, mentorship from teachers, and the enduring bonds forged within the classroom decades ago.
“Fifty years after passing through these gates, the memories remain vivid and profoundly impactful,” he said, expressing gratitude to the school authorities and the Old Boys’ Association for the recognition.
The NIMASA boss stressed that the accolade serves as a renewed call to service, reinforcing his dedication to mentoring young people and contributing meaningfully to their personal and professional growth.
He reiterated his resolve to remain a role model, pledging continued support to youths as they navigate the complexities of life and career development.
Addressing students at the event, Mobereola urged them to embrace discipline, focus, and excellence, underscoring the transformative power of mentorship in shaping future leaders.
The Founders’ Day celebration, marked by reflection and recognition, once again underscored the institution’s role in producing distinguished individuals committed to national development and societal impact.
