The Anambra State Police Command has received praise from stakeholders, traditional leaders, and residents for ensuring a peaceful and incident-free 2025 Imoka Festival in Awka.
The annual cultural celebration, one of the most significant in the state, recorded no cases of violence, cult-related clashes, or public disturbances. This success has been attributed to the Command’s proactive deployment of joint security teams, enhanced intelligence gathering, and effective community partnership.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, **CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD**, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, **DCP Ezekiel Ibrahim**, commended the people of Awka and the festival organisers for their cooperation, discipline, and respect for law and order throughout the festivities.
