The Anambra State Police Command has called on residents across the state to remain steadfast in supporting ongoing efforts to rid communities of criminal elements, emphasizing that citizens should not be discouraged from exposing unrepentant criminals.
This appeal followed a recent security assessment conducted across the state, which prompted a renewed focus on collaboration between security agencies and the public. According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command stressed the importance of community participation in maintaining law and order.
“The Command urges residents not to be discouraged but to remain vigilant and cooperative with security agencies in exposing unrepentant criminals in the state,” the statement read.
The Police noted that such collaboration is essential in preventing crimes and ensuring public safety. In response to the security situation, the Joint Security Team has intensified surveillance and patrol operations across strategic areas to deter criminal activities and maintain peace.
Residents in need of security services have been advised to contact the Command Control Room via 07039194332 or the PPRO on 08039334002. Additionally, the public is encouraged to use the ‘NPF Rescue Me’ app, available for free download on Android and iOS devices. Contact details of Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) have also been made available for direct communication in areas of concern.
The statement was issued by SP Tochukwu Ikenga from the Anambra State Police Command, Awka, on June 23, 2025.
