AIG Maritime Receives Officers of Clearing Agents Compliance Task Force


The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, psc(+), IIPS, PSPS, has received a courtesy visit from the National Compliance Joint Task Force of Licensed Clearing Agents (N.C.J.T.F.L.C.A) at the Force Headquarters Annex, Obalende, Lagos.

The visit, led by the National President of the Task Force, High Chief Dr. Basil Nwolisa, was aimed at fostering enhanced collaboration between the police and stakeholders in the maritime and logistics sectors. The delegation also used the opportunity to formally present the newly inaugurated national officers of the Task Force to the Command.

While welcoming the visitors, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba acknowledged the importance of stakeholder partnerships in promoting transparency, compliance, and professionalism across Nigeria’s ports. He applauded the Task Force’s efforts to support lawful practices in forwarding and clearing activities nationwide.

He also reiterated the Command’s readiness to collaborate with credible stakeholders who are committed to reducing economic sabotage, improving port security, and encouraging adherence to due process and lawful operational standards.

In his response, Dr. Nwolisa appreciated the warm reception by the AIG and reaffirmed the Task Force’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force, especially through the Maritime Police Command, by offering intelligence, promoting compliance, and advocating for ethical practices within the sector.

The meeting marked a significant step toward improving synergy between law enforcement and port industry players in the collective effort to sanitize Nigeria’s maritime environment.
