The Housing Estate Elders’ Forum (HEEF) in Fegge, Onitsha, Anambra State has called on the Onitsha South Local Government and the Anambra State Housing Authority to urgently swear in Chief Obiora Egbuna as the duly elected Chairman of the Housing Estate.
In a statement issued after an expanded general meeting of the forum, the elders emphasized the need for peace and progress within the community, urging all stakeholders to put aside past grievances and embrace unity for the greater good of the estate.
“It is a time of fostering good neighbourliness with love to move the estate forward,” said the Chairman of HEEF, High Chief Dede Uzor A. Uzor, in a press release made available to journalists in Awka.
The forum reiterated its commitment to peace and stability in the estate, warning against the interference of outsiders seeking to cause disunity or exploit the community through imposition of levies and other divisive tactics.
HEEF also expressed appreciation to the Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government, Chief Joseph Emeka Orji, for what it described as his inclusive and humane leadership style, which it said has fostered unity across the local government area.
The elders further commended the Anambra State Housing Authority for its continued support and understanding, noting that the resolution of the estate’s leadership issue should be seen as a win-win situation for all parties involved.
The forum called for swift administrative action to officially install Chief Obiora Egbuna, emphasizing that the time has come to move the estate forward in harmony and mutual respect.
