Socialite and nightlife personality Yhemo Lee has humorously expressed his frustration over the name fans now use to address him whenever he steps out at public events.
The socialite, who is popularly known as Yhemo Lee, YL, and Olowo Eko, revealed that despite his numerous aliases, people at events have seemingly abandoned all of them for one particular title — “Daddy Amirion.”
According to Yhemo Lee, fans now shout “Daddy Amirion” whenever they spot him at shows, a reference to his child, Amirion.
He admitted that the experience has made him finally understand why some mothers become upset when people stop calling them by their names and instead identify them solely through their children.
Recalling how he once found such complaints amusing, Yhemo Lee said he used to wonder why mothers would object to being called “Mummy Zion” or “Mummy Tinuke” after giving birth.
However, he explained that his own experience has now given him a new perspective.
“Now, I think I finally understand why some women used to fight and argue that when they give birth, don’t call me Mommy Zion, don’t call me Mommy Tinuke. I have a name. My name is Shalewa.”
He continued humorously: “I used to laugh at them like, are you not the one that gave birth to the child? But I understand now. Only me, I am called Yhemo Lee, YL, Olowo Eko. But when people see me at shows, they would be shouting Daddy Amirion.”
Yhemo Lee jokingly complained that the title does not exactly match the image and “steeze” he tries to maintain.
“With all my steeze, making me look like an old man. If you even say Daddy A, it’s even cool, some people might think it’s a nickname. But no, they will still say Daddy Amirion — after one, father of one.”
His comments have sparked amusement among fans, with many relating to the humorous reality of parents becoming better known publicly through their children.
