Primetime Reporters, a publication of Chisann Communications, will hold the fifth edition of its Annual Lecture and Awards on October 15, 2026, with a focus on digital transformation and environmental sustainability in Nigeria’s maritime and logistics industry.

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Rockview Hotels, GRA, Apapa, Lagos, and is expected to attract key players across the maritime, shipping, port and logistics sectors.

Themed, “Smarter Gateways, Greener Logistics: Leveraging the Port Community System and National Single Window for Zero Emission Trade,” the lecture will examine the role of digitalisation in improving the efficiency and competitiveness of Nigeria’s trade gateways.

The programme will particularly explore the potential of the Port Community System, PCS, and National Single Window, NSW, to create a more integrated and technology driven port environment.

The Managing Director and Editor in Chief of Primetime Reporters, Saint Augustine Nwadinamuo, said the initiative was designed to promote conversations capable of driving meaningful reforms across the maritime and logistics value chain.

Nwadinamuo said Nigeria could deploy digital technology to move its ports away from congestion, excessive paperwork and fragmented processes towards smarter and more interconnected trade corridors.

According to him, effective implementation of the PCS and NSW would help improve port efficiency, reduce cargo dwell time and lower logistics costs while eliminating unnecessary procedures.

He added that greater digital integration could also contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions, thereby supporting Nigeria’s transition towards a more environmentally sustainable maritime and logistics sector.

Nwadinamuo said the annual lecture would provide an avenue for industry stakeholders, policymakers and other experts to examine practical measures for making Nigeria’s maritime gateways more efficient, greener and globally competitive.

The event will also feature an awards ceremony to honour individuals and organisations that have made notable contributions to the development of Nigeria’s maritime industry and the wider economy.

He disclosed that the awardees would include chief executives of government agencies, terminal operators, shipping companies and other distinguished stakeholders whose contributions have positively impacted the sector.

Nwadinamuo said Primetime Reporters had, through the annual lecture and awards, consistently highlighted major challenges confronting the maritime industry while providing a platform for solutions and policy direction. He called on government agencies, professional bodies, corporate organisations, maritime stakeholders and individuals to partner with the publication through sponsorship, advertising and other forms of support.
