NUJ Lagos Urges Journalists To Register For Media Games To Boost Health, Fitness

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, has opened registration for its upcoming Media Games, urging chapels and members to seize the opportunity not just for competition, but also for the well-being benefits that comes with active participation.

In a notice issued by the Chairman of the Media Games Committee, Ayo Ojedokun and Secretary
Tunde Olubajo, it called on interested participants to fill out a short registration form, taking about 20 seconds to indicate which games they wish to compete in.

The information gathered, they said, will be used to compile a full list of participants and finalize the draws for the competition.

Beyond the thrills of competition, the Committee emphasized that journalists stand to gain significantly from taking part in the Games.

Physical activity has long been linked to reduced stress, improved cardiovascular health, and better mental clarity, benefits that are especially valuable for media professionals whose work often involves long hours, tight deadlines, and high-pressure environments.

The Committee is therefore encouraging all chapels to mobilize their members, stressing that participation offers a rare chance for journalists to step away from their demanding schedules, stay active, and reconnect with colleagues in a relaxed, competitive setting.

Members have been urged to register promptly as part of ongoing preparations to ensure the Games run smoothly.

The various sports open for participation are included in the form.
