Ogun Security Agencies Step Up Rescue Operation After Hostel Kidnap

The Ogun State Police Command has intensified efforts to rescue victims abducted from a private hostel in the Ipara area of the state, following the attack that occurred on the night of July 29, 2026.

The command said it responded swiftly after receiving a distress report, activating a coordinated security operation involving the police and other relevant security agencies.

According to the police, tactical units and intelligence personnel were immediately deployed to the affected area to track the abductors, secure the environment and facilitate the safe rescue of the victims.

The command stated that the ongoing operation is aimed at ensuring the victims are rescued unharmed while those responsible for the attack are identified, arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

It assured residents that security agencies are working closely to sustain pressure on the criminal elements, stressing that no effort would be spared in restoring public confidence and safety.

The police also appealed to parents, students and residents to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information capable of disrupting the ongoing security operation.

It urged members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible intelligence that could assist in the rescue mission and the arrest of the suspects.

The command further advised residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements or activities within their communities through its designated emergency communication channels.

The statement was issued by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, who reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property while pursuing the abductors until the victims are safely rescued and justice is served.
