Ilorin Emirate Rallies Behind AIG Jimoh Over Ajiran Murder Allegations

The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the foremost sociocultural organisation representing the people of Ilorin Emirate in Kwara State, has reaffirmed its unwavering confidence in the integrity, professionalism and leadership of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Lagos, AIG Moshood Olohundare Jimoh.

The declaration was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the National Publicity Secretary of the Union, Mallam Suleiman Shuaib Dagbo, and made available to the media. The Union said its position followed years of observing the senior police officer’s dedication to public service and justice.

According to the statement, AIG Jimoh has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to peace, fairness and the rule of law, earning widespread respect within and outside the Nigeria Police Force through exemplary service.

The National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, disclosed that the people of Ilorin Emirate had closely followed recent allegations made by social media personality VeryDarkMan concerning the Ajiran murder investigation.

Abdulmalik described AIG Jimoh as an accomplished alumnus of one of the Union’s educational institutions, noting that his career has been defined by discipline, professionalism, integrity and an enduring commitment to justice.

He stressed that while every individual has the constitutional right to pursue justice and demand accountability, such efforts must be guided by credible evidence and due process rather than unverified allegations capable of damaging reputations built over decades of public service.

The Union cautioned against what it described as attempts to tarnish the image of responsible public officials through unfounded accusations, warning that such actions could weaken public confidence in institutions charged with maintaining law and order.

It maintained that security personnel who have consistently upheld their professional responsibilities deserve fairness and should not be subjected to trial by public opinion without verifiable facts.

The IEDPU therefore urged AIG Jimoh to remain steadfast, focused and undistracted by criticism, encouraging him to continue carrying out his constitutional responsibilities with courage, impartiality and dedication.

The Union also conveyed the prayers and unwavering support of the Emir of Ilorin and the entire Ilorin Emirate community to the senior police officer, expressing confidence that he would continue to uphold justice, strengthen public trust and sustain the high standards expected of the Nigeria Police Force.
