The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, on Tuesday stepped into the Nigerian Air Force Logistics Command in Ikeja with a clear message of unity.
His visit to the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base signalled a renewed push to strengthen operational ties between the police and the military.
Leading members of his management team, Jimoh engaged the Air Officer Commanding Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Abdul Suleh, in high level discussions.
At the heart of the meeting was the urgent need to deepen inter agency collaboration in confronting evolving security threats.
Jimoh recalled the long standing relationship between the police and the Air Force, describing it as instrumental in curbing crime.
He noted that intelligence sharing and coordinated surveillance had consistently improved security outcomes across Lagos State.
According to him, joint patrols and operations between both services played a decisive role in reducing criminal activities.
The AIG stressed that his new supervisory role over Lagos and Ogun States makes sustained cooperation even more critical.
He pointed out that proactive engagement between officers of both services had prevented unnecessary friction in the past.
Such swift and discreet conflict resolution, he added, helped preserve professionalism within the ranks.
Jimoh reaffirmed the commitment of the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to institutional synergy.
He maintained that stronger collaboration would ultimately enhance investigative efficiency and public safety.
Responding, the Air Officer Commanding described the visit as timely and deeply commendable.
Suleh praised Jimoh’s professionalism, recalling earlier encounters marked by mutual respect and strategic clarity.
He assured that the Nigerian Air Force would continue to stand firmly with the police in sustaining security stability across the region.
