Commissioner of Police Simeon Udofia Akpanudom stands as a product of decades of discipline, strategic learning and operational excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.
Born on August 4, 1967, in Ukana Ikot Ntuen, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, his journey reflects a steady climb shaped by merit and commitment to service.
He joined the Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, setting out on a career that would later be defined by distinction and leadership.
Akpanudom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Regional Planning from the University of Calabar, alongside advanced certification in Industrial Safety and Control from the University of Port Harcourt.
He further strengthened his intellectual depth with a Master’s degree in Security and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, positioning himself within the strategic cadre of policing.
His professional development spans a wide range of high level courses, including the Intermediate Command Course in Jos, Strategic Leadership Command Course and advanced defence management programmes at the National Defence College, Abuja.
The senior officer has also undergone specialised training in intelligence led operations, conflict mitigation, election security management and early warning response systems, reflecting a career anchored on modern policing methods.
A fellow of the Defence College and member of several professional bodies, Akpanudom’s affiliations cut across safety, management and international policing institutions.
His career has been decorated with notable honours, including the Inspector General of Police Sword of Honour as Best All Round Cadet, United Nations Medal for service in Kosovo and multiple awards for academic and leadership excellence.
From pioneering roles in Rivers State commands to strategic assignments across Bauchi, Cross River and Anambra, he has built a reputation for operational competence and administrative depth.
His international exposure includes service in the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, further enriching his perspective on global policing standards.
Currently serving as Commissioner of Police Anti Fraud at the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, he remains at the forefront of tackling financial crimes.
Beyond the uniform, Akpanudom is described as a family man, married with children, and finds balance in reading, writing, swimming and reflective pursuits.
