NIMASA DG Charges Muslims On Unity, National Rebirth

…Mobereola Urges Compassion, Discipline as Nigeria Marks End of Ramadan

The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of Eid el-Fitr.

In a goodwill message released at the weekend, the NIMASA boss called on Nigerians to embrace the enduring values of compassion, discipline, and service to humanity, describing them as critical pillars for national growth.

The message, conveyed in a statement signed by the agency’s Head of Public Relations, Mr. Osagie Edward, underscored the spiritual significance of the season and its relevance to nation-building.

Mobereola noted that Eid el-Fitr marks the culmination of a period of deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice, and devotion, which should inspire renewed commitment to faith and humanity.

He stressed that the lessons of Ramadan, particularly selflessness, unity, and compassion, remain indispensable in fostering social harmony and sustainable development in Nigeria’s diverse society.

According to him, the spirit of the season offers a timely opportunity for citizens to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and promote peaceful coexistence across ethnic and religious lines.

“As we celebrate the end of the holy month of fasting, may this blessed season of sacrifice, reflection, and unity fill our hearts with gratitude and strengthen our bonds as one people,” he stated.

He further expressed optimism that the occasion would usher in renewed hope, peace, and prosperity for the nation amid prevailing socio-economic challenges.

The NIMASA DG urged Nigerians to sustain the virtues of empathy, charity, and communal support beyond the festive period, noting that collective responsibility is key to national progress.

He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote national unity, while encouraging citizens to work together towards building a safer, more resilient, and prosperous Nigeria.
