NPF, PSC Roll Out Strict Physical And Credential Checks for Constable Applicants
The stage is set for the next phase of recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as authorities announce the commencement of physical and credential screening for applicants in Cross River State. The exercise, jointly coordinated with the Police Service Commission, will begin on Monday, March 9, 2026.
The Cross River State Command disclosed that the screening is part of the 2025/2026 recruitment process for General Duty and Specialist Police Constables. The exercise will run for several weeks, concluding on April 18, 2026, as candidates undergo verification and fitness assessments.
According to the Command’s spokesman, ASP Eitokpah Sunday, applicants who successfully completed the online registration are expected to appear for the exercise at the designated venue in Calabar within the stipulated period.
The screening will be conducted daily from 7:00 a.m. at the Police Officers’ Mess located along Moore Road in Calabar, where officials will verify credentials and assess the physical fitness of candidates seeking to join the Force.
Authorities directed all applicants to report in proper screening attire, specifically clean white T-shirts and white shorts, as part of the physical inspection requirements of the recruitment process.
Candidates are also required to present two recent passport photographs and a certificate confirming physical and mental fitness issued by a government-recognised medical facility.
In addition, applicants must produce a duly signed certificate of origin from their local government authorities, alongside original and duplicate copies of their National Identity Card or NIN slip.
Other mandatory documents include original and duplicate copies of O’Level results, a birth certificate or declaration of age, a printout of the application form, and a properly completed guarantor’s form.
Officials stressed that candidates must also present their invitation slip, warning that any applicant who fails to provide the complete set of required documents will be automatically disqualified from the screening exercise.
The Command further reiterated that the recruitment process into the Nigeria Police Force is entirely free of charge. It urged members of the public to report anyone demanding money or inducement, emphasizing that the exercise will be conducted strictly on merit, transparency and accountability.
