Lagos PAVE/PCVA, Neighborhood Safety Corps Forge Partnership To Strengthen Conflict Prevention And Community Safety

In a strategic move to deepen grassroots security and violence prevention in Lagos State, members of the Lagos State PAVE/PCVA team paid an advocacy visit to the Lagos State Commandant General of the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC) at the LNSC Taskforce Complex, Bolade, Oshodi.

During the visit, the PAVE delegation held extensive discussions with top management officials of the LNSC, including the General Manager, Director of Administration, Director of Operations, and the Public Relations Officer (PRO). The meeting focused on areas of collaboration aimed at promoting a violence-free environment across communities in the state.

Both parties expressed strong alignment in their operational frameworks, with the LNSC affirming that its community-based security model is in sync with the PAVE/PCVA module of operations. This shared vision, stakeholders noted, provides a solid foundation for sustained partnership and impactful engagement.

Key areas identified for collaboration include public sensitization on conflict management and prevention, early warning and early response mechanisms, effective reporting systems, and enhanced community engagement. The initiative is expected to empower residents with the knowledge and tools needed to prevent conflicts before they escalate, while strengthening trust between communities and security institutions.

The Lagos State PAVE/PCVA delegation was led by the Chairperson and included the Vice Chairperson, Secretary, and a member. In total, four members represented the PAVE Steering Committee at the meeting.

The advocacy visit marks a significant step toward coordinated efforts between civil society and state security structures, reinforcing Lagos State’s commitment to proactive conflict prevention, community safety, and sustainable peace.
