The Lagos State Police Command has invited Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of multiple rape, other sexual offences, and conducts likely to cause a breach of public peace and breakdown of law and order in Lagos State.
The Pastor is expected to report today, Monday, January 5, 2026, by 10:00 a.m. prompt, to the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID, Panti.
According to a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi (ANIPR, MIPRA), the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, SCID, to carry out a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the allegations leveled against Pastor Okafor.
The statement confirmed that Pastor Chris Okafor has been duly served with a police invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to fully cooperate with investigators at the SCID, Panti, as investigations into the alleged capital and other serious offences continue.
CP Olohundare Jimoh has also ordered immediate and adequate security protection for all alleged victims, urging them to come forward without fear to report their complaints at the SCID, Panti, where the investigation has commenced.
The Police Command assured the public that the identities of all victims and witnesses will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and fully protected. Individuals who may have been affected by the alleged actions, as well as persons with credible information or evidence relevant to the investigation, are strongly encouraged to assist the Police by reporting to the SCID, Panti, or through the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command.
The Commissioner of Police reiterated the Command’s commitment to conducting the investigation in a professional, transparent, and unbiased manner, strictly in accordance with the law. He emphasized that no individual is above the law, regardless of social, religious, or economic status.
The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its resolve to maintain public peace, safety, and law and order, assuring Lagos residents that all allegations of criminal conduct will be thoroughly and discreetly investigated, and that justice will be allowed to take its full course without fear or favour.
