
In accordance with the strategic directives and vision of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Headquarters Western Naval Command (HQ WNC) conducted a medical rhapsody for the residents of the Lekki Council Development Area on Wednesday, November 3, 2025. This medical outreach aimed to strengthen and enhance civil-military relations with the host community.
The event offered a wide range of services, including free dental checks, general medical consultations, distribution of essential medications and treated mosquito nets, blood pressure monitoring, health talks, and counseling sessions.
Surgeon Captain AO Aliyu, the Medical Officer of HQ WNC, highlighted the importance of this outreach, noting that it underscores the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to corporate social responsibility in the Lekki community. He encouraged residents to fully utilize the medical services provided. Medical teams from NNRH Ojo and ONMC also conducted health talks to further educate the community.
During the event, Rear Admiral AA Mustapha, GSS, the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, represented by the Command Administrative Officer, Commodore Hyacinth Nwaka, urged residents to take full advantage of the facilities available for their health needs. He reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and welfare of the community and officially launched the medical rhapsody.
In his goodwill message, Oba Olumuyiwa Ogunbekun Liasin, the Oni-Lekki of Lekki Kingdom, expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Navy for its ongoing support and contributions to community development and security. Other dignitaries in attendance included the representative of the Lekki Local Council Development Area, Chief Staff Officer Alhaji (Hon.) Rasaq Temitope Ojikutu, members of the Lekki Kingdom Council of Chiefs, and the Commanding Officer of FOB Lekki.
